People Magazine has released an application for the Apple iPad, so that you can keep pace with the Hiltons and Kardashians and the likes. The iPad application from People Magazine gives you the opportunity to utilize many of the features of the iPad such as a lot more photos and videos that will be available online so that you can keep track of all the dirt of the celebrities, along with some content exclusively for the tablet wonder. One of the special things about this new People Magazine application for the Apple iPad, alongside much gossip and many more photos of Angelina Jolie, Jessica Alba, Christina Aguilera and the likes is the fact that the subscribers of the print version will be eligible for the version available on the iPad for free. However, if you are not a subscriber, you can buy each month’s edition for $3.99 on the iPad application.

The difficulty of making a subscription to work was however, highlighted by The New York Times. The arrangement took a long time to come. The publisher of Sports Illustrated, Time Inc and Apple were caught in a long tangle whether Time would be able to provide the print subscribers of the magazine with some sort of an application that they could download on the iPad. People Magazine, alongside Time and Wired are looking at the Apple iPad to be their savior by releasing specific applications on it. As with iBooks, Apple did not apply any standard magazine format thus, different magazines will not be able to have user interfaces and layouts that are completely different. The digital magazine format was actually an introduction of Apple’s one-time bitter rival Adobe, but it has fit perfectly into the iPad as it will in its competitors that will be launched in a few months’ time.
