If you plan on taking a trip to Switzerland, you can be sure you would not be alone. There are thousands of tourists that visit Switzerland each year on account of the breathtaking sites that await them there. Just imagine; snow capped hills, large lakes, and small resorts located on hill tops are just some of the things you can visit. Taking a tour to Switzerland during winter is probably one of the best things you can do as an excursion to Switzerland will provide you with memories that would remain with you for life.

Taking a tour to Switzerland during winter is probably one of the best things you can do as an excursion to Switzerland will provide you with memories that would remain with you for life.

Here are some of the things you can do should you plan on taking a trip to Switzerland:

1. Rock Climbing: If you are planning on taking a small vacation to Switzerland, then this is the most important thing you need to do. Irrespective of whether you are planning on such a trip with your family or friends, you need to make sure you have rock climbing as part of your agenda. Make sure you have a guide on such slopes that can guide you during your treks.

2. Cathedrals: Nearly everywhere in Switzerland you travel, you will find cathedrals and other old churches reminiscent of ancient times. Many of these cathedrals have their very own religious importance, and St. Nicholas's Cathedral is by far the most famous.

3. The Carnival – Another very important site that you need to visit when travelling in Switzerland is the Carnival that takes place in early March. This carnival moves through Basel and is complete with horse drawn carriages, music and dance. The sounds and scenarios here are a sight to behold. Dating back to the middle ages, the Basel Carnival is by far one of the best sight in Switzerland  as the enthralling music from drums, trumpets, and trombones can provide you with an experience, you will not soon forget.

4. Lakes of Switzerland – When one thinks of Switzerland, they immediately think of the various snow capped hills and peaks, often neglecting the various lakes that are present here. Although most of Switzerland is covered by land, one will discover many lakes toward the interiors of the country. Visiting nature’s creations in these interiors is a picturesque sight right out from a movie.
